Motores de reemplazo V6 y de 6 cilindros: precios, compatibilidad y qué incluyen
How much does a V6 engine cost?
Right now a replacement V6 from Power Engines runs $2,499 to $6,449, with most of our 6-cylinder assemblies landing between $2,599 and $4,999. Price is driven by displacement, engine family and how hard the core is to source — not by how new your vehicle is. A 3.4L 5VZ for an older Tacoma is one of the cheapest V6 swaps on the market; the 3.0L Audi V6 sits at the top of the range.
Every price on this page is the engine assembly only. Freight is quoted separately (see shipping rates), and installation labor is billed by whichever shop fits the engine — we do not quote labor, because rates vary widely by region and by how much of the old engine’s hardware is reusable. Ask your installer for a written labor quote before you order so you can compare the full job cost.

These are the 6-cylinder engines we have in stock today. Every one is a zero-mile remanufactured assembly, and none of them carry a core charge.

No core charge, ever
Most remanufactured engine suppliers hold a core deposit — often several hundred dollars — until you ship your old block back. Power Engines does not. There is no core charge on any engine on this page, so the price you see is the price you pay for the engine, and you are not left chasing a refund weeks after the job is finished.
What you actually receive
Our 6-cylinder engines ship as bare long blocks, crated and ready to install. That means the rotating assembly, block and heads — not a dressed engine. Very little (if any) external hardware is included; some engines arrive with a valve cover, timing cover or oil pan, and some do not.
Plan on reusing your original intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, sensors, alternator, A/C compressor, power steering pump and wiring. Reusing your own accessories is also what guarantees fitment: those parts are already matched to your vehicle’s year, trim and emissions equipment. Budget for fresh gaskets, seals and fluids, since covers, seals and gaskets are not warranted.
V6 vs. inline-6: which one is in your vehicle?
Both are six-cylinder engines, but the cylinder layout is different and the parts are not interchangeable.
- V6 — two banks of three cylinders set at an angle, sharing one crankshaft. Shorter front-to-back, which is why it dominates transverse front-wheel-drive cars and most modern trucks and SUVs. Every engine in this collection is a V6.
- Inline-6 (I6, straight-six) — all six cylinders in one row. Longer, and generally found in older rear-wheel-drive platforms and some European and heavy-duty applications.
If you are searching for a straight-six and do not see it here, call us at 877-900-2695 before assuming we cannot source it. We also stock 4-cylinder replacement engines or diesel engines, turbocharged engines and remanufactured engines across every make we carry.
How to confirm the right V6 fits your vehicle
Displacement alone is not enough. Manufacturers ran several different 3.5L V6s in the same nameplate in overlapping years — Toyota’s 2GR-FE and 2GR-FKS are both 3.5L V6s in a Camry or Highlander, and they are not the same engine. Before ordering, confirm all five of the following:
- Year, make and model — including body style and drivetrain.
- Displacement — 3.0L, 3.3L, 3.4L, 3.5L, 3.6L or 4.0L.
- Engine code — the letters in the table above (2GR-FE, 2GR-FKS, 1GR-FE, J35Z2, G6DH, ERB, LLT, 5VZ, CWG).
- The engine digit in your VIN — several of our listings identify the correct engine by VIN position, for example “VIN Z, 5th digit” for the 2GR-FKS or “VIN D, 8th digit” for the GMC 3.6L LLT.
- The stamping or label on your current engine — the most reliable check of all.
Use the year / make / model engine finder to narrow the list, then have us verify it. If anything is ambiguous, send us your VIN or call 877-900-2695 and we will confirm the correct assembly before you pay. We would rather spend five minutes on a VIN than have the wrong engine on a lift.
Freight, warranty and returns
- Warranty: 6 months from the delivery date, covering internal lubricated parts, on engines installed within 30 days by an ASE-certified shop. Read the full warranty terms — cracks, and any covers, seals or gaskets supplied with the engine, are not covered.
- Dispatch: orders placed before 2pm EST on a weekday ship the same day.
- Freight to a business address with a dock or forklift: $295 to the eastern and midwestern states on our list, $395 to the western and mountain states. Liftgate service and residential delivery cost more — full state-by-state table on the shipping policy page.
- Local: free delivery within 30 miles of our Hawthorne, NJ warehouse, and free pickup at 55 Thomas Rd N, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
- Not served: we cannot ship direct to Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico, but we can deliver to a freight forwarder in the continental US.
- Returns: 30 days outside a warranty event. Freight is non-refundable and unboxed returns carry a 20% restocking fee.

V6 engine questions we get asked
How much is a V6 engine?
Between $2,499 and $6,449 at Power Engines, depending on the engine family. The 3.4L 5VZ and 3.5L 2GR-FE sit at the low end; the 4.0L 1GR-FE Gen 2 and the 3.0L Audi CWG sit at the high end. That figure is the engine only — add freight and your shop’s labor.
Are these new or remanufactured V6 engines?
The 6-cylinder engines in stock today are remanufactured, built to spec as zero-mile assemblies and crated. Remanufactured means the assembly is rebuilt to spec with upgraded internal components, not simply cleaned up and resold.
Is there a core charge?
No. There is no core charge on any engine sold by Power Engines, and you do not have to return your old block.
Do I get the intake, exhaust manifold and sensors?
No. These are bare long blocks. Reuse your original accessories — that is also how you guarantee fitment to your specific vehicle.
Two engines share my displacement. How do I pick?
Go by engine code and the VIN digit called out in the listing, not by displacement. If you are not certain, send us the VIN and we will confirm it.
Can I get a quote including delivery to my address?
Yes. Call 877-900-2695, Monday to Friday 8am–5pm EST, or send us your vehicle details and we will quote the engine plus freight to your exact address.
Not sure which V6 you need?
Send us your VIN or your year, make, model and engine size and we will confirm the correct assembly, current price and freight cost to your address before you commit. Request a V6 engine quote or call 877-900-2695. More answers on our customer FAQ.
